Sri Lanka’s port network is growing fast. Colombo is expanding capacity with new terminals, Hambantota continues to scale, Trincomalee is attracting investment as a strategic energy location, and Galle remains an important point for regional traffic.
These developments are creating new opportunities for high-quality, fast, and reliable maintenance services.
Our 2025–2027 expansion plan
- Investing in people
We are increasing our local workforce and training more engineers and technicians to meet the rising demand for marine and industrial maintenance services in the region.
- Larger, more advanced workshop
Our expansion includes new precision equipment and specialized machinery to handle larger and more complex turbocharger and rotating equipment. This allows us to serve a wider range of customers faster and more efficiently.
- Rapid response across the region
Our Colombo base will act as a regional hub for quick deployment to surrounding countries including India, Maldives and Bangladesh. This strengthens Sri Lanka’s position as the preferred service center for vessels transiting the region.
- Boosting national competitiveness
By increasing capacity and speed of service locally, we help reduce dependency on overseas workshops. This supports the national economy, attracts more vessels to call at Sri Lankan ports, and creates sustainable employment opportunities.
Why this matters
An efficient maritime services ecosystem supports port throughput, increases operational attractiveness for international trade routes, and contributes directly to national growth. Turbomed Asia is investing to be a central part of this ecosystem.
